AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

MISSION

The mission of the After School Program at St. Joseph Pro-Cathedral  is to provide a safe, affordable, nurturing environment for the students requiring after school care.  The children will be given the opportunity to participate in activities that promote their physical, social and emotional development.  All of these will be carried out in an atmosphere of mutual respect; where all involved will promote the values of our Catholic faith and the mission of Jesus.

FOCUS

The After School Program provides a balance of active and quiet activities in individual, small group and large group settings.  A snack is provided upon commencement of the program, followed by a mandatory homework/quiet period in which staff will closely monitor the completion of homework.  If homework is completed before the allotted time, a quiet activity must be enjoyed until group activities begin.  Small group tutoring sessions will also be available for students per the request of a classroom teacher or parent.  At approximately 4:15, group activities will begin and may include, but are not limited to, gym time, computers, art, drama or music.  Preparation for dismissal and clean up will be from 5:00 until 5:30.
